BUCHANHAVEN Hearts travelled to Burghead at the weekend to take on Burghead Thistle in a Division 1 encounter on a glorious afternoon for football,

Hearts took the game to Thistle straight from the kick-off with Burnett putting in a good cross after good work by Clark but Thistle cleared the danger.

Hearts took the lead on ten minutes when a Clark through ball saw Dane Ballard through on goal and he stroked the ball past Todd in the Thistle goal.

This should have spurred Hearts on but Thistle came back into the game and a Cunningham mistake saw McLaren through but his shot hit the bar which was a let-off for Hearts.

Thistle continued to threaten and Bennett pushed a Milne shot round the post.

Clark should have done better but he headed a Burnett cross just wide. McLeod was next to try but he was high and wide with his shot from outside the box.

Bennett again turned a shot from Stewart behind as Hearts lived dangerously.

Hearts subbed Michael Fraser on for Josh Abolghassem at half time and started the better team and good play from Ballard almost put in McLeod who had made a good run from midfield.

Hearts did make it 0-2 when a Kris Keith ball over the top found Burnett whose cross was hit home via the goalkeeper and into the back of the net by Jamie Clark.

Thistle tried to get a goal back and Powell had a great block to deny Lunan a goal.

Hearts subbed Watson for Leslie and he had a good effort stopped by Todd.

Hearts then made it 0-3 when another Kris Keith ball over the top found Ballard whose pin-point cross found Jamie Clark who headed past Todd.

Hearts subbed McNeil for Duncan. Thistle did have another chance but Milne shot high over when he was given the chance from a McLaren cut back.

Hearts won a penalty when Ballard was taken down by Ross. Clark stepped up for his hat-trick but his penalty was saved by Todd.

McNeil was put through but again Todd pulled off a good save from his shot and in injury time Ballard just bulleted a header just wide of the post after a good Watson cross.

This was a good win away from home at a difficult place to come and a clean sheet with three good goals sees Hearts hitting a bit of form winning their last three matches in a row.

Their next game is at home to Portgordon Victoria in a Division 1 league encounter on Saturday with a kick-off time of 2pm.
