Hearts travelled to Woodside to take on Glentanar in a Junior First Division encounter.
They were first to threaten when Michael Fraser won the ball in midfield & strode forward and just fired a shot over the bar.
Hearts continued to press and Burnett and McLeod combined well with Burnett’s final shot saved by Robertson. Glentanar hit back and a Morrison free kick just went over Bennett’s bar. James Watson curled a shot just wide but he was pulled up for offside anyway.
A good flowing move saw Burnett in with Robertson to beat but his shot was weak and the chance was gone. Bennett then saved well from Mackie as he beat three men on a mazy run and into Hearts box.
Glentanar forced the pace after half time and came close through Taft whose shot was blocked by Bennett. But the home side did take the lead when Askew found room to put over a teasing cross and Dines headed past Bennett at the back post.
Hearts levelled things shortly after when Brown got down the left and his cross was headed across goals by Burnett to Scott McLeod who finished well when he shot past Robertson.
Bennett saved a long range effort from Dines, then Abolghassam blocked a shot on the line as Glentanar threatened.
Hearts subbed Watson with Ballard and Brown for Forbes. Lewis Brown just missed a header at the back post after a Ballard cross, but Hearts defended well in the closing stages to keep Glentanar at bay and almost got all three points when Keith made a storming run forward and just failed to get on the end of a McLeod pass. Hearts fully deserved something from the game and were very unlucky not to get all three points especially after a good first half display. Next game is at home to Lossiemouth United in the league on Saturday with a kick off time of 2pm.
