Buchanhaven Hearts took on high-flying Banks O Dee in a second round Scottish Cup tie at Raemoss Park.

Hearts pushed hard against their more fancied opponents but failed to clear their lines for four goals and

Hearts had the first opportunity when a Keith freek kick found Clark who should have done a lot better with a free header which went past Smith’s post.

Another chance for Hearts came when a free kick was headed down by Mizak to Clark again but the ball got tangled up in his feet and Turnbull cleaared the danger.

Dee came back into the game and Grant pulled off a great save from a Horne shot.
Dee then forced a lot of corners which Hearts defended well.

Dee took the lead when a soft free kick was awarded and Jack played the ball to the onrushing Horne who hit a great shot which gave Grant no chance.

Now 1-0 ahead, Dee kept up the pressure but could not add to the score. It was 1-0 at half time.

Hearts had it all to do after the break and they got an equaliser when a Robinson slip put Bain through and he shot past Smith.

But it did not last long and Dee went back in front when Alexander curled a shot past Grant from 20 yards.

Bain had another chance to equalise but could not find a way past smith.

Again Dee went up the park and scored when a long ball was knocked on by Horne and Biskup shot past Grant to make it 3-1.

Dee then made sure of the victory when Biskup scored his second after Hearts failed to clear their lines.

Hearts soon hit back to make things interesting at 4-2 when Bain was put through again and hit a cracker past Smith.

Usher had a chance to bring the scores closer still but just failed to get a touch to shoot and the ball was cleared.

Banks O Dee scored two late goals through McCall and Reid to make the final score 6-2.

Next game away to Colony Park. Kick off is 2pm.
