Buchanhaven Hearts had Colony Park as visitors in a Division 1 East fixture at Raemoss Park on Saturday.
The visitors took the lead in the second minute when a poor pass from Cunningham was intercepted by Strachan. Thomson saved his shot but he followed up to shoot home to put Colony Park 1-0 up.
The visitors kept up the pressure and made it 2-0 when a cross from Smith found Brown at the far side of the box and his looping header found the net.
Hearts hit back and made it 2-1 when Robinson took advantage of a poor clearance to head past Duguid from close range. They were caught again when a free kick from Keith wasw cleared and Stephen ran onto the ball and beat Thomson to make it 3-1.
Hearts should have made it 3-2 when Usher’s through ball sent Robinson through but his shot was cleared off the line by Crosbie.
Colony Park rubbed salt in the wound by scoring through Strachan again after Hearts couldn’t clear and the forward shot home to make it 4-1.
Hearts just couldn’t find a way through and at the start of the second half Robinson came close then McNeil headed a McLeod cross just wide.
But another clearance saw Strachan through one to one and lobbed Thomson to make it 5-1. Colony Park were in full control and made it 6-1 when hearts didn’t mark Bonarius closely and he turned and shot past Thomson for the game’s best goal.
Hearts kept on trying but were outplayed by a very competent outfit. The goals given away should have been avoided and confidence and frustration is taking its toll at Raemoss Park with a win looking a fair distance away.
Two difficult away games are coming up, with Parkvale on Saturday then Lewis United the following week.
