Hearts took on second top Glentanar on a lovely afternoon at Raemoss Park with new signings Alex Davidson from Fraserburgh and Jordan Clark, Richie Ligertwood and Kenny Mair from Turriff United on loan.

It was a shock result with new players coming in but it just didn’t happen.

Hearts tried hard but the breaks did not come and to lose three goals in five minutes gave them a mountain to clim.

However, confidence at Raemoss is high and the season will undoubtedly turn around.

Glentanar started better and Clark blocked an Adams shot.

Hearts tried hard to open up a tight defence but Dines cleared a cross from Davidson as Ballard waited to pounce then Ballard almost got through and McAskill cleared and it was missed by the Hearts defence.

Lee Adams pounced and rounded Grant to put Glentanar 1-0 up with an easy finish.

Grant then pulled off a tremendous save to stop Adams getting his second after a cross from McAskill.

Hearts were so unlucky when a corner from McLeod found Ballard who headed across goal and Robinsons header hit the bar and was cleared.

Hearts did not start well in the second half and conceded a second goal when Keith was adjudged to have pulled down Deans and a penalty was awarded. Morrison only just beat Grant to make it 2-0.

It got worse when Munro again found a way past Grant with a shot which crept in to make it 3-0.

Hearts made a couple of substitutions with Park replacing Clark and Duncan replacing Robinson.

Glentanar made the game safe when Deans evaded three challenges to slot past Grant to make it 4-0.

Then Park had a shot blocked by Dawson when it was goal bound.

Then Ligertwoord had a header saved by McAskill.

Hearts pulled a goal back when McLeod found Ballard who found a way past two defenders and scored easily to make it 4-1.

Glentanar scored in 86 minutes when a shot from Cairns was deflected past Grant to add to Hearts misery. The full time score was 1-5.

Hearts next game is away to Fraserburgh United. Kick off is at 1.30pm.
