It was league business, again on Saturday, when the Bay entertained Newmachar United in a PMAC League Division Two game, sponsored by Steveweld and Kirkwood Homes
The visitors went ahead after 11 minutes; McCune found himself free on the edge of the Bay box. He calmly controlled the ball moved forward and slotted the ball past McKessick.
Newmachar were encouraged by this; in another attack Mcleod played the ball back to Keith in the Bay box. Fortunately, for the Bay, he put his shot well wide.
Newmachar were passing the ball about sweetly being given too much time by the home side.
Good neat interpassing play by the Bay ended with a Sime pass which was too long for Whyte to collect. Keith then caused the Bay defence when he made a run down the right; however Buchan managed to get back and clear the danger for the Bay.
Wilby saved the day for the Bay, when he got back to make a great tackle on McCune, who had been set up by Keith, as the former attempted to put in a shot from a few yards out.
In the dying minutes of the half Whyte put in another cross from the left, which no Bay player could take advantage of.
The Bay tried to reduce the arrears from the restart; Ramsay again attacked down the left and attempted to put in a cross which was cleared.
The Bay got back on level terms on the hour mark; Findlay headed down a K. Park free kick to Cameron, who slotted the ball home from close range.
Cameron then tested Chapman with a shot from just inside the box. However, Chapman was equal to it saving the effort with his feet for a corner.
Against the run of play, Newmachar went ahead again after 80 minutes. Johnstone collected a loose ball on the edge of the Bay area and tried a lob, which beat McKessick and went into the net.
The Bay again attempted to reduce the arrears again. Wisely tried a shot from just outside the Newmachar area, which went just wide of the mark.
With a few minutes remaining the Bay pressure paid off when they equalised.
The ball fell to Wisely as the visitors’ tried to clear a Bay attack. The Bay youngster, calmly, hit a shot which took a slight deflection and ended up in the net for a deserved equaliser.
A point was no more than the Bay deserved after a fighting second half following a mediocre first half.
