Buchan welcomed Hamilton recently, hoping for a better performance than the 6-1 defeat the last time they played and a great team performance was deserving of at least one point from the game.

Hamilton had the first chance, a pass in from McDonald to McMurchie but Buchan keeper Flaherty was quicker to the ball snuffing out the attack. Buchan had a couple of forays forward Stewart and Johnston both with half chances but nothing clear.

Thirty minutes in the visitors opened the scoring a ball to Richardson on the right was played in low, Urquhart got to it but it scooped high and towards the back post where McMurchie smacked home into the roof of the net. Hamilton almost increased their lead a couple of minutes into the second half, Sloey pouncing on a misskicked clearance from a pass back but blasting her shot over the bar of an empty net.

There followed controversy, a shout roared in harmony from the Buchan players and crowd for a clear handball in the box. The referee initially waved away the claim then spotted the assistant referee flagging furiously. The two officials consulted then the ref pointed to the penalty spot to the frustration of the visitors.

Stewart placed the ball and hit the spot kick hard into the right of the net to equalise 18 minutes into the second half.

Against the run of play Hamilton broke forward, Richardson running onto a long ball forward, she looked offside but play went on and she rocketed a shot which Flaherty got her hands to before it struck the net on 39 minutes. Hamilton very relieved to hear the full time whistle in a game where Buchan should have taken at least a point.
