The match kicked off on a park which was in excellent condition and with Clinton Thistle’s first attack on two minutes they took the lead when JJ Sim was played down the right and his cross found Matthew Cowe unmarked at then back post and he coolly slotted home past Simpson.
Summers in the Clinton goal did well to punch clear a cross by Smith under pressure from Stephen.
Buchan came close to extending Clinton’s lead but shot into the side netting from a tight angle.
A Rennie free kick was headed goalwards by Stephen but it was straight at Summers.
Stephen played Duncan on the right and he curled his cross in and Summers tipped over the bar.
Patterson played a ball into the feet of Cowe who held off his marker and curled his shot narrowly past the post.
Pitsligo were awarded a free kick on the edge of the box but Kewley wasted it, hitting straight at then defensive wall.
Stephen’s header played in Kewley on the right and his fierce shot was brilliantly saved by Summers.
A. Stephen crossed to the back post where Kewley was inches away from connecting with it.
New Pitsligo drew level a minute before half time when Rennie floated a ball into the Clinton box where Stephen header Back across goal into the top corner of the net.
For the first ten minutes of the second half both teams were cancelling each other out with no chances being created.
A Wisley shot from the edge of the box was easily held by Summers. Cowe was played in on goal but he dragged his shot wide of the goals.
A Scott Milne corner was punched out by keeper Simpson out to the right where Cowe latched on to and drilled a ball across goal and Darren Barbour fired in from six yards to give Clinton the lead.
Summers made a smart save from a Daruis Duncan free kick. G. Patterson fired in a shot from the edge of the box but Simpson got down low to save.
Scott Milne went on a mazy run beating three players but shot straight at Simpson.
A cross by Rennie was headed down by Stephen and Christie volleyed from the edge of the box well over the bar.
On 80 minutes Matthew Cowe sealed the cup for Clinton after he volleyed in from 12 yards.
The match ended with Clinton Thistle winners for the third time this season.
In a hard fought match, there was not much between the two teams and it could have gone either way but Clinton striker Matthew Cowes’s two goals made the difference between the teams.

Meanwhile, in the second round of the Scottish Cup, Elizabethan Link Up made the long journey to play Horseshoe and found themselves two goals down at half time.
They pulled one goal back through Karle Noble then lost another two minutes later.
The home side scored two more goals in the last five minutes to complete the scoring.
