Bellslea run out winners against gutsy New Deer

IN THE Deejays Nightclub League, New Deer entertained Bellslea and the home side took the lead with a goal from Lewis Neil.

Back came Bellslea who levelled with a goal from the penalty spot taken by. Two minutes into the second half the away side took the lead. McRobb then saved a penalty from Kyle Tait.

Bellslea went on to score three more goals in the second half to run out winners by 5-1. Their goals came from Fraser Watt a brace and one apiece from Weynss, Tait and Ross.

Clinton Thistle entertained St. Drostans and Summers in the away goal was first in action pushing a Slater shot over the bar. Morrice for the away side was played in on goal but keeper Stewart saved twice.

Humphries was next to try a shot but Summers saved easily. St. Drostans were holding their own until a minute before half time when the home side took the lead against the run of play when Milne beat two players on the right and his cross fell to Slater to fire into the roof of the net.

McDonnell who came on at half time was played in on goal and his shot beat the keeper but came back off the post. On 60 minutes Clinton were awarded a penalty, up stepped Scott Milne who shot low towards the corner but Summers made a brilliant save.

At the other end St Drostans’ manager Summers was played in on goal and he tried to lobb the keeper and it went narrowly over the bar.

Clinton were awarded another penalty which Stuart Fowlie took and sent the keeper the wrong way to make it 2-0 to the home side.

St Drostans were reduced to ten men when Matthew Bain was then sent off. Morrice received the ball on the left and he crossed for substitute to pull one back for the away side. Whyte went on a mazy run on the left and his shot was brilliantly saved by Summers.

Elizabethan Link Up were facing Panasonic Tavern in their league match and the home side’s poor run of results continued with the away side winning by 7-2.

The winning goals were scored by Danny Booth with a hatrick, Dane Ballard with a brace and one each from Charles Cross and Kevin Cameron and replying for the home side were Clint Cassie and Brent Bruce.

Panasonic finished the match with ten men after Kevin Cameron was sent off.
