Cruden Bay entertained Buchanhaven Hearts in a PMAC Division One (East) game at the weekend, the match being sponsored by Steveweld.

The Bay had a let off early on when a Davidson shot rebounded of the post.

The Bay got into the game and went ahead after eleven minutes.

Good work between Tait and Gibb ended with the ball being played back to Tocher who slotted the ball home from just inside the box.

The visitors got themselves back into the game after this and tried desperately to get the equaliser.

However, the Bay defence stood firm and increased their lead within two minutes remaining of the half.

Following a goalmouth scramble, Cowe deflected the ball past Gatt into the net.

The hearts came out fighting in the second half and put the home defence under pressure in an attempt to reduce the arrears.

However, the Bay defence defended resolutely once more with goalkeeper Cooke making several fine saves top keep the ball out.

The Bay did have their chances as well, but there was no further scoring.
