HAVING remained open for the past two weeks, Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery is hoping for a rise in the temperature.

However, despite the inclement conditions several anglers have landed good catches recently including:

J. Abel of Fraserburgh (18 fish), R. Ewen of Macduff (14), J. Danels of Ythanbank (14 including a nice 7lb fish), L. Smith of Whitehills (11), E. West of Fraserburgh (eight), R. Davidson of Macduff (seven) and M. Ewen snr of Turriff (six).

Norman Thomson from Turriff successfully landed a tagged fish and collected his £100 reward.

The best end tackle has again been various lures including Bunny Leech and Black Cormorant although good catches have fallen to the Ace of Spades and a Montana nymph. It has been rewarding to record a good quantity of fish taken on Buzzers (Silver/Black) and Bloodworm.

The fishery’s Troutmaster 2011 competition is now open.

All tackle including boats, rods etc are available for hire and beginners are welcome. Bookings not necesssary. For any information phone Bob on 07980 999006.
