The ‘Here For You’ partnership received a range of new tools from Zion to help with their Landale Road Gardens project last week.
The partnership is aiming to restore the gardens to their former glory with a view to making it a location for Peterhead to be proud of.
Zion donated various gardening equipment including spades, forks and hand tools.
The ‘Here For You’ partnership is led by Social Regeneration Officer, Alex Geddes, who is delighted with the kind donation, telling us: “As the project evolves, it is great news to receive the tools which will help the workers in the gardens move the project forward.”
Sam Cameron of Zion brought along the tools and said: “As the church is part of the community, we want to help out and we are glad to work alongside Alex and Fiona.”
Fiona Chalmers, owner of BonBon sweet shop on Queen Street and a former landscape gardener, has volunteered to work on the Landale Road Gardens project.
She said: “I am really looking forward to working on this fantastic project for Peterhead and working alongside some key organisations and volunteers.
“Being a volunteer myself, It is great to see others come forward to help out.I can’t wait for summer and to see the project progress.”
