Staff at Mintlaw Vets have raised just over £5,000 by completing a sponsored walk along the West Highland Way.
Donations raised from the walk, held at the end of May, were handed over to the Scottish SPCA and Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland on Wednesday, September 16.
The walk was completed by the team in 11 hours and 49 minutes.
The team walked the final 24 miles of the West Highland Way within a 12 hour period.
Staff at Mintlaw Vets were delighted that their final figure raised through donations for the walk, Easter raffle, sales of ceramic poppies, chocolate tombola, car boot sale, baggies of sweeties sales, Hook the Duck and sponsorship came to £5,007.
The money was shared equally between Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland and the Scottish SPCA.
All of the team who initially put their names down for the walk, started and finished it.
Only four out of the fourteen walkers had any hill walking experience, others had walked lots, while others had just walked from the car to the house!
All of the walkers had to be capable of completing the challenge, but some admitted they found it tough.
A support vehicle was present with the team in case of injury but mainly to provide food and drink along the way with many confessing that the highlight of their day was meeting the van!
Staff at Mintlaw Vets said: “Major thanks to all the very kind sponsors who helped us on our way and well done to all those who grasped the challenge and to those who stayed behind to man the ship.”
