The annual Peterhead Fishermen’s Memorial Service was held at the Lido last weekend, to commemorate loved ones lost at sea.
Superintendent Steve Murray of the RNMDSF welcomed guests to the service before the singing of ‘Will Your Anchor Hold’, accompanied by the band of the Salvation Army.
Rev. James McMillan of the town’s Congregational Church then led the company in prayer before the reading of Psalm 107.
A second hymn, ‘Haven of Rest’ was followed by the laying of floral tributes at the memorial.
Those paying their respects, including Banff and Buchan MP Eilidh Whiteford and MSP Stewart Stevenson, were led to the memorial by youngsters from Peterhead Sea Cadets.
There then followed the singing of another hymn, ‘Let the Lower Lights be Burning’ before the Benedication by Major Bram Williams of the Salvation Army.
The group then sang the closing hymn, ‘Eternal Father’, bringing the event to an end for another year.
