PETERHEAD lifeboat was launched for the second time within a week on Wednesday.

The ‘The Misses Robertson of Kintail’ launched at 10.38am with its volunteer crew to escort the disabled fishing vessel Sunrise which was under tow by another fishing boat half-a-mile east of Peterhead Harbour.

The lifeboat safely escorted the fishing vessels into the harbour.

The crew reported a 4m swell caused by the wind, tide conditions, and backwash from the breakwater.

The lifeboat returned to its berth at 11.15am.
