Veteran Dons star Joe Harper, who had a reputation as a tough guy to beat on the football field or manager’s bench, will launch an exciting new multi-sport team event, “The Granite Challenge” in Aberdeen tomorrow (Wednesday).
Leading charity Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland has devised this new event which will invite teams of runners, bikers and walkers to complete a 40-mile off-road challenge following the route of the stunning Formartine and Buchan Way.
The route goes from the coast through the heart of Aberdeenshire and finally into the Granite City. The brand new team challenge event will take place on Saturday, June 18.
The event starts by the beach at Fraserburgh and culminates in a welcome finish at Dyce with a changeover transition point at Maud.
If you want to be one of the teams in the very first Granite Challenge or would like to find out more please check the website www.thegranitechallenge.com or call Paul or Val on 01463 713433 for more information.
