A talented dancer from Peterhead won top prize at a Highland Dancing Championship in Glasgow last weekend.
Georgia Murray won the 14 Years SDTA Central Scotland Open Championship on Saturday, March 19 - her first open championship victory.
She won her section with three first places and one second place across the four Highland dances.
Her section was the largest of the day with 24 dancers competing from all over Scotland. It was a very successful and emotional day for Georgia being crowned champion and to top it off she also won the 14 Years Premier National competition.
Georgia is a pupil at the Slessor School of Dance in Peterhead where she started dancing at just three years of age and has been a student there for the past 11 years.
Commenting on Georgia’s recent success her dance teacher, Jacqueline Slessor, told the Buchan Observer she was very proud of what Georgia has achieved and she is a credit to the school.
“Winning an open championship is such a great achievement which Georgia has worked very hard for,” she said.
