A Blue Toon sports organisation has received a £2,335 grant to be used for buying a range of age appropriate athletics equipment.
Peterhead Athletics Club were given money as part of the Awards for All grant project.
Stewart Chalmers, Peterhead Athletics Club Chairperson, said: “ This grant is greatly appreciated as it will enhance the training experience for our current and future junior members.
“Peterhead Athletics club is also pleased to announce it enrolled its 100th member this week and this grant will help the club to continue to develop its membership.”
The grant, which also saw Portnockie Primary School Parent Council receive an award was welcomed by local MSP Stewart Stevenson.
Mr Stevenson said: “I am delighted that Peterhead Athletics Club and Portnockie Primary School Parent Council have benefitted from Awards for All grants, and I know that they will put this money to good use and to the benefit of others in the wider community.
“I would like to congratulate them on their success and I wish them all the best as they invest in the excellent services they provide.”
An Awards for All spokesperson added: “We are announcing over £1 million that will help communities from across Scotland set up and develop projects run for and by local people.
“All of these grants are a great way to show the variety of projects that can be funded through Awards for All for people of all ages.”
Awards for All is a joint awards programme from the Big Lottery Fund and sportscotland, and makes grants to help people take part in arts, sport, social, environmental, health related, educational and other community activities.
