Residents in Buchan recently partook in a gruelling trek over 17 miles and managed to raise £4000 for a special school in Peterhead.
Caralyn Cox, Elke McLachlan, Leonie Brebner and Emma Birnie completed the BRG Coastal Challenge.
The challenge is a 17 ½ mile course from Fraserburgh to Gardenstown.
Participants can walk, run, or cycle the journey.
The ladies completed the challenge on Saturday, August 22 to raise the money for the Anna Ritchie School in Peterhead.
The cash will be used to refurbish the school library.
Acting Head Teacher Sharon Ferguson was overwhelmed by the amount of funding presented to the school.
“We are absolutely delighted with the effort they went to in order to raise this money,” she said.
They were inspired to support the school after seeing the effect it has on children who require additional support. Caralyn’s grandson, Kai McLachlan, attends Anna Ritchie.
“The difference since he has been here is excellent.
“He has come on leaps and bounds,” she said.
