A 17-year-old male has died following a single-car crash in the early hours of this morning on the A90 around one-and-a-half miles south of Fraserburgh.
The teenager was the sole occupant of a grey coloured Honda Civic when the accident happened around 3.10 am this morning.
Sergeant Rob Warnock said: “First and foremost, my thoughts are obviously with the family and friends of this young man at this tragic time.
“I would appeal for anyone who might have seen the vehicle described in the moments leading up to the collision, or has any information about the incident itself, to contact Police as we launch an investigation into what happened.
“A section of the A90 will remain closed for the next four to five hours as enquiries take place and I would ask motorists to take alternative routes where possible in the meantime. Thank you very much in advance for your patience.”
The A90 is currently closed from the Tesco roundabout at Fraserburgh to the B9032 junction leading to Memsie.
Local diversions are in place.
