The Harbour Lights pub in Peterhead played host to the RNLI’s annual SOS quiz night recently.
With a pub quiz, raffle and food available, the night was a great success raising around £370 for the charity.
The meat of the evening was the pub quiz - 81 questions to terrify the most hardened pub quiz aficionado, spread over six intense rounds, with 11 teams battling for the lion’s share of the points on offer.
By the end of the evening however there was a tie for first place.
Teams ‘Quiz Team Aguilera’ and ‘Pointless’ rose to the top with an massive 64 points and showed that they were indeed to be feared in the heady world of the pub quiz.
After a number of tie break questions ‘Team Aguilera’ won the day.
Winning team members were Rona MacKinnon David MacKinnon Ronald Whitham and Hugh (Hugo) Reid .
Organisers expressed their congratulations to the winners on their well-deserved prize of a monstrously big bottle of bubbly each.
Thanks were also expressed to the Harbour Lights for providing the venue and the delicious stovies for the evening.
And, of course, thanks were also given to regular question master Ian Brownlee and his efficient team of helpers.
