Members of Peterhead Camera Club met recently to hear the results of their first competition of season 2016-17
Members submitted four prints on any subject of their choice for this Open competition. The judge for the evening was Neil Blair who was impressed by the standard of the photographs and their presentation.
In an enjoyable evening he not only gave his comments and scores but also useful hints and tips particularly in the area of portrait photography.
The winner of the Open competition was Stewart Sievwright with a score of 71 points out of a possible 80. Close behind with 70 points was Malcolm Smith and third was Kyle Slaven with 65 points.
The winning image was Stewart's 'Coloured Glowing Bulb', a technically tricky shot involving the combination of two images, scoring the full 20 marks.
Other high-scoring images were 'Through the Dunes' by Malcolm Smith; Wood Spirit' by Norman Laird; 'Girdleness' by Andrew Simpson and 'Tangled' and 'Archie' both by Kyle Slaven.
The club meets every Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 7.30pm at 10 Farmers Lane, Peterhead. New members are always welcome.
