The Rotary Club of Peterhead and the Buchan Vintage Tractor and Engine Club held another very successful charity ploughing match at Auchlee Farm, Longside recently.
A total sum of £4,500 was raised, which will be used to help Rotary charities at home and abroad and the BVTEC will use their share to help many local good causes.
The organisers said: “We would like to thank all our sponsors for their generous donations, especially Ken and Margaret Watt and all their staff at The Palace Hotel, Morrisons of Peterhead, Gillanders Motors Ltd, ASDA, Strachans, R.Coutts and Son Butcher, West End Butchers, T.A. Ritchie Butcher, Murdoch Allan and Sons, Don Fishing Company, Finnie 4x4, Wallace Caravans, John Smith and Sons, Russell Gall, Colin Sievewright, Brian Gillanders and Sidney Fraser.
“A special thanks to all ploughers who raised sponsorship money, especially Raymond Turriff who, again, had the greatest amount, without their help and support this event would not be possible and the great success that it is.
They added: “The Harvest Home concert held on Sunday, October 19 was greatly enjoyed by all and contributed greatly to the final total.
“Our grateful thanks again to all at the Palace Hotel, to all entertainers and donations for the raffle.”
