Peterhead’s Craigewan Photographic Group held its last inter club competition recently, with the theme being Stones.
The judge for this competition was Jenny Hibbert from Bridgend in Wales.
Jenny photographs a wide variety of subjects with her favourites being Wildlife and Nature. She has just written a book titled ‘Dippers on Ogmore River’.
She was very impressed with the thought and execution of the clubs images.
The winner was William McNeil (57pts) who produced some very good images to try and snatch the photographer of the year award.
Second place was shared by three members, Charlie Davidson, Malcolm Smith and a new member Mark Strachan with 54pts who managed to score the full 20pts with one of his images titled Stone Pier.
This competition brought an end to a very close league finish with Malcolm Smith beating William McNeil by one point for the club’s Photographer of the Year.
In the junior section it was Ryan Fraser who won this year’s young photographer of the year award beating the girls this year.
The club would also like to wish member Ian Mitchell all the best in the Spirit of Speyside photographic competition as he has four entries in the final shortlist section of this competition.
