The Highlander Lounge in Peterhead was host to the RNLI SOS Quiz Night 2014 on Friday, January 31.
With a pub quiz, raffle and food available, the night was a great success raising around £300 for the RNLI.
The meat of the evening was the pub quiz - 70 questions to terrify the most hardened pub quiz aficionado, spread over six intense rounds, with ten teams battling for the lion’s share of the 70 points on offer.
By the end of the evening however there was a tie for the lead.
The teams, I am one King and 3 OAPs and a Bird, rose to the top with a massive 62 points and showed that they were both to be feared in the heady world of the pub quiz.
After a thrilling tiebreak, 3 OAPs and a bird demonstrated their greater knowledge and experience, and won the quiz.
Winning team members were Vivian Kelman Peter Harris Vic Retalic and David Anderson.
The winners received a monstrously big bottle of bubbly each, and a cash prize which they immediately donated to Peterhead RNLI.
Peterhead RNLI would like to thank the Highlander Lounge for providing the venue and stovies for the evening, and regular question master Ian Brownlee.
