It may be summer but people across Aberdeenshire are being urged to act now and join over 200,000 Scots who have already benefited from expert energy advice by calling the Scottish Government’s Home Energy Scotland Hotline (0800 512 012).

A one-stop shop for advice and support, the Home Energy Scotland hotline is there to help Scots prepare for colder weather and keep warm this winter. Just by calling the hotline, people in Aberdeenshire will have instant access to independent money-saving energy advice that they can trust. They may also be eligible to have insulation, a new boiler or even a full central heating system installed at no cost.

This year, a further £7.5 million is to be invested in the Boiler Scrappage Scheme to help households across Scotland upgrade their boilers. The additional funding is part of a £65 million budget to tackle fuel poverty in 2012/13. Just by calling the Hotline, households may be in line to receive £400 towards the cost of replacing their old, inefficient boiler with a new model, which could also cut up to £300 off their annual fuel bills.

And, the good news is that everyone can get help of some kind – the hotline has already assisted over 200,000 people with advice to save money on heating bills, 12,000 have received vouchers for new boilers and just under 25,000 heating installations have been carried out.

To find out exactly what you are eligible for - whatever your circumstances - call the Scottish Government’s Home Energy Scotland Hotline now on 0800 512 012 or go to . Act now in time for winter.
