The members of the Dales Park Youth Drop-In have a freshly painted club thanks to the efforts of Prince’s Trust Team 23.
Each Prince’s Trust Team, which runs for 12 weeks at a time, must decide on a project that will benefit their local community.
Once a suitable project has been identified, the team must then raise the necessary funds to ensure the project can be completed within the allotted 3 week timescale.
Team 23 would like to thank local businesses for their generous donations for their prize bingo tea which enabled them to raise the money required to complete the community project.
Local community worker Kevin Warrander said: “It is a fantastic achievement for the team, the work they put in for the community project has been excellent.
“I had a chance to meet the whole team over the two weeks they were decorating the pavilion and they are a great team of young people who work very well together.
“The young people who use the pavilion are very pleased with the result and that includes me! So a big thank you from all of us.”
The Prince’s Trust Team programme, delivered in Aberdeenshire by Aberdeen Foyer, is a 12-week self-development programme for 16-25 year olds, offering a two-week work experience placement, community projects, a week long residential and the opportunity to gain nationally recognised qualifications.
The next team will begin on May 16 and anyone interested in taking part can contact team leader Bryan Mackay on (01779) 481170 or 07930605887 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
