Power of Jesus talks continue

The evening talks being held in Peterhead St. Andrew’s Parish Church, Queen Street, on the theme “The Power of Jesus’s Blood”, continue on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, March 26/27, commencing at 7.30pm on both evenings with the Rev. Dr. Abi Ngunga and the Rev. James McMillan sharing.

On Saturday, March 30, at 7.30pm, there is a special concert entitled, “He Lives”, presented by some senior and former pupils of Peterhead Academy, also representatives from the church groups. Tea/coffee will be provided each evening and all are welcome.

Peterhead Methodist Church Sisterhood will meet on Wednesday, March 27, at 7.15pm their guests being Moira and Jim Givan, Longmanhill. All ladies are very welcome.

The Peterhead group of the Church of Scotland will be having the following united services during this Holy Week –

On Maundy Thursday, March 28, there is a Communion Service in St. Fergus Parish Church at 7.30pm.

There will be a service for Good Friday, March 29, in Peterhead Trinity Church at 7.30pm.

Cruden Parish Church is having an informal celebration of Holy Communion at 7pm on Good Friday, March 29.

In Old Deer Church on Thursday, March 28, at 7pm, there will be an informal Sacrament of Communion service.

St. Drostan’s Episcopal Church, Old Deer, has intimated that on Maundy Thursday, March 28, the Eucharist will be celebrated in St. Peter’s Church at 7pm.

On Sunday, March 31, the Easter Service in Cruden Parish Church at 10am will include the celebration of Holy Communion.

In St. Drostan’s Episcopal Church, Old Deer, on Sunday, March 31, the Easter Eucharist is to be celebrated at 9.30am. Please note that this is to be a joint service with the friends of St. John’s, held in St. Drostan’s.

Deer Parish Church has announced that on Sunday, March 31, at 7.30am a short, informal outdoor service to welcome Easter Morning will be held in the lower garden by the bridge in Aden Park at that time. This will be followed by a Toast and Butteries Breakfast in the Kemp Hall, Old Deer. All are welcome.

Easter Morning Worship in Old Deer Church is at 10.30am and will be led by the Rev. Sheila Kirk. Sunday School meets as usual and teas and fellowship are to be shared afterwards.

In Fetterangus Church at 6pm an Easter Day praise service is to be led by the Rev. Sheila Kirk who will also be providing the musical item that evening on her clarsach. Teas and fellowship will follow the service.

Please note that the Fetterangus evening services have reverted to their later summer time of 6pm.

Peterhead Congregational Church Ladies’ Guild will end their session on Monday, April 1, with their AGM at 6.45pm followed by a programme at 7.30pm given by St. Andrew’s Church Male Voice Choir.

The St. Andrew’s Male Voice Choir will bring their own Guild’s session to a close on Wednesday, April 3, at 7.30pm.

Peterhead Old Parish Church Senior Ladies’ Fellowship will meet in the upstairs hall on Monday, April 8, at 2pm, when the Rev. Dr. Gordon McCraken is to be the speaker.

A Rag Bag collection is being arranged by Peterhead St. Andrew’s Church to be held on Monday, April 8, from 10am until 4pm and donations of unwanted clothing, linens and such like will be appreciated. It is understood that this is being organised for the benefit of Christian Aid.

On Friday, April 12, St. Kane’s Church, New Deer, is having a special time of celebration in the Church Centre commencing at 7.30pm. This is being held to mark the 10th anniversary of the Centre. It is intended to be a social evening.

Admission is free, everyone is welcome and refreshments will be available.

From Monday 25 to Friday 29 March, Peterhead Congregational Church will be holding a daily lunchtime from 12.30pm to 1pm which will be followed by a buffet lunch. Everybody is welcome.
