Buchan motorists are in for 44 days of disruption as work gets underway to repair numerous roads across the area.
The road repairs come following the creation of several potholes across the area due to the heavy rain and wet weather experienced during the winter months.
Several C-class and unclassified roads in Buchan will be subject to a rolling programme of repair and surface dressing works beginning Thursday, April 23.
While a period of 44 days has been allocated to the work, Aberdeenshire Council says progress will very much be dependent on weather conditions.
A spokesperson for the council said that each road would require to be prepped, potholes filled in and any drainage issues dealt with, all of which can take up to two to three days.
Also the subsequent surface dressing typically takes one day to complete.
The local authority said that roads will be closed in most cases to allow for the work to be carried out safely.
The following roads will be affected during the period:
• C10B, near New Leeds, between B9093 and A952.
• C136B, near New Aberdour, between A981 and U159B.
• C72B, near Hatton, from U73B for 500 metres east.
• U57B, near Nether Kinmundy, between C38B and C56B.
• U70B, near Newton, between A952 and C39B.
• U73B, near Hatton, between C70B and C72B.
• U151B, near New Pitsligo, between A98 and Middlemuir.
Aberdeenshire Council says diversions will be in place for all closures during the period of work.
However, pedestrian access will be maintained in all cases, as will vehicle access to affected properties where possible.
Aberdeenshire Council apologises for any inconvenience caused during the works.
