Aberdeenshire Council’s elections team will hold a series of pre-election briefings for candidates and agents in the upcoming Local Government Elections on May 3.
The briefings are designed to give information on the nominations process and candidacy generally, covering such things as forms, qualifications, authorisations, a timetable of key events and expenses levels.
Details of how the council will manage postal votes and polling will be outlined, as well as an overview of count arrangements, including a brief explanation of the main elements of e-counting.
Political parties have already been advised of the first round of briefing sessions, though it is hoped there will also be other opportunities afforded to candidates or their representatives closer to election day, particularly in connection with the count.
Below are the details of the pre-election briefing sessions for prospective Aberdeenshire Council election candidates or their agents:
Gordon House, Blackhall Road, Inverurie, on Monday, March 5 at 3.30pm (Wards 7 to 13)
