Members of Aberdeenshire Council’s Policy and Resources Committee will meet on Thursday this week to appoint a contractor for the second phase of a council housing development in Cruden Bay.
The report before members will recommend accepting the lowest tender from Robertson Construction Northern Ltd, Elgin.
The £1.3million development will bring the total number of new housing units developed by Aberdeenshire Council over the last three years up to 163.
The total investment to date on these projects is around £19million primarily from the Housing Revenue Account with additional funding from Scottish Government grants, planning gain contributions and second home council tax contributions.
The development in Cruden Bay is the latest addition to Aberdeenshire’s council housing stock and will build on initial works on two semi-detached homes adapted for particular needs that are due to complete in May.
The second phase of an additional 11 homes for rent will comprise four semi detached two-bedroom homes, two three-bedroom homes, one four-bedroom detached home and a block of four one-bedroom flats all built off John Buchan Drive.
The homes are due to be completed later this year once the contractor has been appointed.
