Aberdeenshire’s two largest photographic clubs went head-to-head recently in a friendly match which was held at Ellon.
Ellon Photographic Society and Craigewan Photographic Club from Peterhead entered 25 images each for the latest competition.
The images were mixed through and these were sent to an external judge who scored them out of 20 points.
Craigewan PG came out on top by 15 points with a score of 426 against Ellon’s 411.
Judge for the event, Alistair Martin from Aberdeen’s Bon Accord Camera Club, was impressed with the quality of the images from both clubs.
He chose only one image to award the top mark of 20 points to, and this went to Craigewan’s Charlie Davidson.
Ellon boasts a great new meeting place at Ellon Community Centre which has seen the club enjoy a rise in membership recently.
Craigewan’s chairperson, Peter Lewis, has seen the Blue Toon club’s membership steadily rise with new members being attracted to this great hobby.
Craigewan would also like to wish one member, William McNeil, all the best as he goes into the world of being a professional photographer.
Next up for Craigewan PG is a friendly with Fraserburgh Photographic Society in Fraserburgh before putting the final touches to hosting this year’s Grampian Eye Competition on April 30.
