Photo competition winners in the frame

Two talented young photographers have picked up cameras as prizes for winning the recent Artventure photography competition run in conjunction with Choose Peterhead.

Hundreds of photo entries were submitted which showcased the town centre in a number of ways - from the fun and the quirky to the traditional heritage - with 50 shortlisted for the competition.

These were then printed and mounted and displayed during the recent design studio hosted in the former Happit premises in Drummers Corner by Modo.

Visitors to Choose Peterhead were encouraged to put stars next to their favourite snaps – with Central School P7 pupil Connie Bancroft winning the junior honours and James Lewis Alexander taking the senior accolade.

Connie focused on the beautiful Reform Monument in Broad Street while James Lewis created a clever reflected image of Marischal Street.

They collected their Panasonic Lumix camera prizes from competition sponsor Rodger Morrison of Peterhead Football Club and generous local supplier Derek Donald of Donalds.
