A Peterhead woman is preparing to compete against over 100 girls in the Miss European beauty pageant.
Nicole Geddes (24) recently became a member of Team Scotland and is hoping to be crowned Miss European 2016 in October.
The contest will see over 100 girls from various European countries take part.
Nicole said: “I’ve never taken part in a pageant like this before but always wanted to.
“The first step was when I was entered into Buchan Queen in 2015 and really enjoyed the whole experience so wanted to do something that was similar to it.
“I applied to the Team and I was accepted to go to the Team Selection day down in Glasgow on Sunday, July 17.
“We met some of the girls from last year’s team, learned a small opening number for the evening and had our hair and make up done before the selections in the evening.”
She added: “Last year the winner of Miss European came from Team Wales and Team Scotland were only one point away from winning.
“In 2012 the current Miss Great Britain, Deone Robertson, won Miss European for Team Scotland.”
The pageant finals will be held in Folkestone, England from the 17-23 October.
Team Scotland is raising money for the Scottish Association for Mental Health.
Nicole has already held a Race Night which raised £1,400, and she hopes to arrange a bingo tea.
