North East Scottish Liberal Democrat MSP Alison McInnes has welcomed plans by the Post Office to modernise its branch in Peterhead’s Clerkhill Road.
The branch, which is located within the R.S. McColl store, is being changed to a new main-style branch, as part of a national modernisation programme.
The open-plan branch will offer the same products and services as before with the addition of a car tax facility and a selection of on-demand foreign currency.
Customers will also benefit from longer opening hours.
Commenting on the new-look branch, Mrs McInnes said: “The improvements in services being offered by this post office is good news for its customers.
“The post office is at the heart of many of our communities.
“I am sure this new-look branch will continue to be well supported by the people of the Clerkhill area.” she added.
The modernised branch is scheduled to open for business on Wednesday, March 2.
It will be closing for refurbishment on Wednesday, February 17.
A Post Office spokesperson said posters will now be displayed in the branch so customers are aware of the changes.
