Modo - Circus with Purpose held their annual celebration and awards ceremony Modo Matters in Peterhead recently.

The event, held in the Rescue Hall on Thursday, March 31, was very well attended by participants, volunteers, families and friends who gathered to celebrate the achievements of young people from Peterhead, Mintlaw and Fraserburgh.

Modo was delighted to welcome MSP Stewart Stevenson, Inspector George Cordiner of Police Scotland and councillor Anne Allan to present over 100 Saltire Awards, Dynamic Youth Awards, Youth Achievement Awards and Young Aberdeenshire Volunteer Awards.

Guests were treated to a variety of performances of circus skills, comedy and dance.

CircoModo Peterhead, CircoModo volunteers and Serena Wilson School of Highland Dance all received rapturous applause from the packed hall.

Four of the recipients gave a personal account of how their involvement with Modo had helped inprove their lives.

Modo works closely with Aberdeenshire Voluntary Action and Aberdeenshire Council, and is committed to providing training, support and progression to all who participate.
