Aldi shoppers in Peterhead donate socks for homeless charities
Aldi shoppers in Peterhead have supported the store’s ‘Not Socks Again’ appeal.
Sock Amnesty boxes were placed in all 96 Scottish Aldi stores in January for customers to drop off any extra and unused socks they received over Christmas. Over 2000 pairs were donated for homeless charities, including Aberdeen Cyrenians.
Emma Bellu, the charity’s fundraising manager, said: “We can’t thank Aldi’s incredibly generous customers enough. Socks are one of the things that we receive the most requests for, so it’s a real bonus to get such a large donation that we can distribute directly to the most vulnerable people in the local community.”
Aldi also donated £250 to the charity.
