SEPA have released an updated flood alert for the Aberdeenshire area warning that further shower will effect the Buchan area.
The statement reads: “River levels in the area remain very high following heavy rain on Thursday into Friday. Further showers will affect the Buchan coast north of Aberdeen bringing a continued risk of flooding from smaller watercourses, the river Don in Aberdeen and the Ythan in Ellon.
“There may be property flooding, and disruption to travel.”
Earlier today parts of the Buchan area experienced severe flooding even though no Flood Warning had been issued for the area.
A SEPA spokesperson has said the flood alerts and flood warnings system should not be read as three tier system.
An official comment is expected from them soon.
