Banff and Buchan Member of Parliament Dr Eilidh Whiteford has praised youngsters attending New Deer’s Boys’ Brigade.
The youngsters of the 1st New Deer Boys’ Brigade made a presentation at their annual parents night on Friday, May 9, which was attended by Dr Whiteford.
Dr Whiteford inspected the parade as guest of honour, before making individual presentations to those prize-winners who have earned awards over the year.
Speaking after the event, Dr Whiteford told the Buchanie: “It was an absolute pleasure to meet with a group of diligent, disciplined youngsters and to learn about their activities over the course of the year.
“The 1st New Deer is a great example of the valued work the Boys’ Brigade does in communities up and down the country.
“The group’s activities would not be possible without Captain Alistair Brodie, and the other volunteers who make these activities possible.”
Boys Brigade groups play an active role in many youngsters’ lives across Aberdeenshire, with branches across Aberdeenshire active.
