Morrisons Peterhead Store Community Champion Sheena Irvine has handed over a £22,870 donation from the Morrisons Foundation to Peterhead Projects
Morrisons Foundation was set up to help people in need in the local community.
Peterhead Projects will use the donation to purchase a new van for its 2ReUse Recycling project which has its headquarters at Meethill.
Brenda Campbell, who manages the recycling project, told the Buchanie: “We are indebted to the Morrisons Foundation for its very generous support of our project.
“This funding will enable us to considerably develop our capacity and ensure more household items are recycled in and around Peterhead.”
The Morrisons Foundation awards grants for charity projects which make a positive difference to people’s lives.
Since launching in 2015 the Morrisons Foundation has funded a wide range of projects, supporting charities in local communities across England, Scotland and Wales.
Commenting on the award, David Scott, Trustee of the Morrisons Foundation, said: “We are delighted to have awarded this grant to Peterhead Projects in support of their 2ReUse Recycling initiative.
“I’m sure that this donation will help them to continue making a real difference in the local community.”
