Lifeboat launches to aid of disabled pleasure boat

Peterhead Lifeboat went to the aid of a stricken pleasure boat to the east of the port on Friday.

The Misses Robertson of Kintail was requested to launch by UK Coastguard at 12.15pm with its volunteer crew to assist the broken down vessel 'Wavedancer' with two male crew.

The vessel was laying a short distance east of the port's north breakwater and had suffered engine failure.

The lifeboat took the casualty in tow, and recovered it to Peterhead marina. The lifeboat was then stood down and returned to its berth at 1 30 pm. The sea conditions were 1 Metre swell, and wind was SW by S force 4 - 5. Visibility was good.
