After raising a staggering £219,353 in 2016, Peterhead Relay for Life is set to do it all over again.
The launch night for the 2017 event will be held at 7.30pm on Thursday, November 17, at the Buchanhaven Hearts Club.
Last year a total of 31 teams raised the whopping target and it is hoped that even more folk will sign up for the 2017 event to raise even more money in the fight against cancer.
Event chair, Lorraine Coleman, told the Buchanie: “Nowadays one in two people will suffer from cancer.
“If you want to help make this statistic smaller you can!
“Come and join us at the Relay for Life Peterhead. It is a 24-hour event that will be held on July 1 and 2, 2017 at Lord Catto Park in Peterhead and is a must event on your calendar.
“Relay for Life Peterhead is an unforgettable and brilliant event that brings the community togther and celebrates the fundraising efforts throughout the year of everyone involved.
“Teams take turns walking around the track - all fitness levels can cope - it is not a run.
“They take part in lots of fun games and activities which are organised by our very enthusiastic and energetic entertainment team.
“Last year we raised a fantastic £219,353. We can’t wait to see these teams back again, but we would also love to see lots of new faces and teams too,” she added.
