Scottish SPCA is appealing for information after three kittens were abandoned in a cardboard box in Peterhead.

The cats were discovered behind flats in Longate on Thursday, Peterhead, and estimated to be six weeks old.

Now in the care of the SSPCA’s Aberdeenshire Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre, they have been named Ella, Gracie and Dexter.

Animal Rescue Officer Lynne Craib said: “These poor kittens were left on an extremely hot day without any water. It’s lucky they were found relatively quickly by people who helped them or they would have become very dehydrated.

“We’re keen to trace the person who dumped them and would appeal to anyone with information to contact us as soon as possible. Despite their ordeal they are lovely, friendly little cats and we’ll soon find them the caring homes they deserve.”

Anyone with information should contact the Animal Helpline on 03000 999 999.
