Well-known skipper Jimmy Buchan and his wife Irene are pictured (above), being presented with a gift from Convenor Bill Mackie on Jimmy’s retirement from the Peterhead Port Authority Board.
He has served PPA since its inception on January 1, 2006, and retired on December 31, 2014.
Commenting on his achievement, port authority chief executive, John Wallace said: “He has brought both a high profile to the port and industry and a great deal of common sense to the Board.
“His shoes are not easy ones to fill but in his place will be newly elected Gavin Thain, a former successful North Sea fisherman now inshore and local business man.
“His first term of office will run from January 1, 2015 to Dece,ber 31. 2017.”
Meanwhile, reappointments were made for existing board members John George Buchan, Douglas Armstrong and Ian Armstrong who will all serve for a further three years from January 1, 2015.
