Two Peterhead ladies are preparing to host a Pink Sparkle Afternoon Tea this Saturday in aid of Breast Cancer Research.
Wilma Bruce and Jackie Buchan have been busy organising the event that will be held at the Waterside Hotel, Peterhead from 12 noon to 4.30pm.
Money raised at the event will go to the Breast Cancer Research Unit at Aberdeen University, a cause that both ladies support.
Wilma was diagnosed with breast cancer 23 years ago and the support she received locally following her treatment meant she wanted to give something back as her way of saying thanks.
Speaking to the Buchanie, Wilma said: “It had always been in the back of my mind to raise funds for breast cancer locally.
“I spoke to Jackie about it and she said yes right away as it is a matter close to both of our hearts.
“Jackie has carried out various fundraisers over the years but this is the first time I’ve organised an event - it’s something I’ve always wanted to do.”
Wilma and Jackie would like to thank friends, family and local businesses for their support.
The Afternoon Tea event will feature various stalls to browse and activities for children including face painting, glitter tattoos, plus an opportunity to have a photo with the Pink Fairy.
Tickets are £10 for adults and £5 for children under 12 years, available from the Buchan Observer office on Seagate.
