Help sought for Peterhead hearts

How many people can go home and say, “Today I helped save someone’s life”?

That’s what fundraisers do every day when supporting the work of British Heart Foundation (BHF) Scotland.

BHF Scotland urgently needs the support of people in Peterhead to get together now and again, and raise vital funds to help the charity continue its life-saving work.

Ruth Drummond, who’s keen for other local people to join her in the new Peterhead Fundraising Group, said: “I got involved because my mum died just over two years ago, aged 60.

“She had an undiagnosed heart condition, which we only found out about later. Her mother also died from heart disease. I had thought that mostly men got heart disease – I didn’t realise that so many women are affected.”
