YOUNGSTERS from Boddam Playgroup learnt their first lesson in healthy living last week with a special health fayre at the village hall.
Part of Buchan Feeling Good Festival, Playgroup Leader Kim Buchan hoped the day would teach both the children and their parents the importance of healthy eating and exercise.
She said: “We want to encourage the children while they are young to get plenty exercise and eat healthily. Not only that, we hope to make the parents aware of the importance of feeding their children the right things.”
Visitors to Boddam public hall enjoyed a variety of stalls including Janet Warrander’s natural skin care and Betty Bell’s Sweets (in moderation only of course.) Jog Scotland’s Roselyn Bruce and Stephen Campbell invited members of the public along to join a new walking group to begin on April 17. Call 01779 477148 for information.
The Health Point’s Moira Craig talked to parents about healthy lifestyles, while dishing out delicious fruit kebabs. Drop in sessions on health are available at The Health Point at Peterhead’s Kirk Street from 11am until 3pm Tuesday to Friday. All in all, a great day and a great way to kick off the festival.
