The family of a woman who was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year has rallied round and raised £8,013.83 by organising a golf day.
Lynn Stephen only completed her treatment in August but within a month her friends and family arranged a fundraiser at Peterhead Golf Club.
More than 120 people attended the golf day and the proceeds were donated to Friends of ANCHOR.
FoA was chosen because, following her diagnosis, Mrs Stephen discovered how important the charity’s fundraising was to supporting cancer patients at the ANCHOR unit at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
A golf tournament was held through the day at the club and was followed by a dinner and disco where a raffle and games raised proceeds.
A spokesperson from ANCHOR said: “Lynn’s sheer tenacity in her fight against cancer has clearly been a real inspiration to friends and family and those around her.
“To have raised over £8,000 in one day is no easy feat and we’re astounded by the sheer generosity of all those who supported Lynn, and ultimately the cause.
“Because of this, we can take another significant step forward in bringing the very best cancer care and treatment to those fighting the disease in the North-east.”
