Deer Community Councillors join with representatives from other Buchan Community Councils to engage with Community Planning Partners on issues of interest or concern to the Buchan area.
These are matters relating to the health, safety and wellbeing of each resident.
The Scottish Ambulance Service presented the First Responder Scheme and area service manager, Bryan Milne, gave a very interesting talk on this and encouraged communities to contact him to find out more about how they can begin to deliver this service.
Bryan also advised that there is financial support available from the British Heart Foundation to purchase Community level defibrillators.
Bryan’s contact details are firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone 01339 887578.
Scottish Fire and Rescue Service’s Bruce Milne brought to the attention of the Forum the risks and serious consequences of fire in the home.
NHS Grampian’s Buchan Area Manager, Lorna Watt and colleague, Eleanor Wright, Buchan District Nurse Team Leader, went to the most recent forum to highlight the importance of integrated health and social care in the Buchan area.
Lorna said: “Integrated care focuses on improving services delivered by health, local authority and the voluntary sector and it’s important that we get the message to the public. Community Councils and their Forum is one of way of doing this.”
