New Deer Public Hall celebrates its 50th anniversary this month, and to celebrate the occasion, the community association has organised a Golden Oldies disco.
The disco takes place in the Public Hall on Saturday, August 25, from 8pm until late.
Tickets are priced £10, available by contacting any committee member, or may be purchased from local outlets including the Chemist, Food for Thought and the Post Office.
This is a licensed event and admission will be restricted to over 18s only. There will also be a fundraising raffle.
According to NDCA chairman, Iain Macaslan, music for the evening will be provided by Jim Reid of DJ Jasper, and he promises that the music will not be too loud!
Iain added: “We just hope that people will come along, join in the spirit of the event, and enjoy the nostalgia. There’s no upper age limit!”
He said that at recent community association meetings there were various suggestions as how the Public Hall’s 50th anniversary might be celebrated, and it was decided that a disco featuring mainly music from the 1960s would have a wide appeal - not just to Golden Oldies.
“It was a popular choice,” he said, “and everyone is gearing up for a good night out.”
